The Grand Entrance

[ When you awaken, it's in a bed. But it's not your bed. Someone is hustling and bustling nearby--multiple someones. They seem to be working hard on something. When you awaken, it's in a very clean room, but you're inside. When you finally open your eyes, you're safe in a nice bedroom with five identical girls running around and keeping the place nice and cozy. Yes, that's right, five identical girls running around. For those familiar with it, they could be cosplayers. But they're not. Also, unlike their original design, they have obvious ball joints to make them more puppet-like. What do you guys do? ]

Might be similar to what I've thought. Hey, do you have dragons where you're from?

[ And a look over at Lotor and Eric. ]

And you. I'm guessing, despite appearances, Galra isn't a fancy name for "dragon" or "manakete."

I - it depends on what you mean by dragon. The wise creatures of myth are just that, but there are monsters with similar forms and similar powers, yes....

[Lotor glances over at him at that.]

No, not dragons, and I have never heard of the other name. They’re my father’s species, possessed of a Warrior ideal that has been twisted and corrupted beyond recognition by the Empire. I’m actually short and ‘delicate’ by the standards of most full blooded Galra.

Surely you must be joking. Dragons belong in stories, movies or games.

[ Seriously? ]

They're not real. Certainly, the technology named after such things is real. For example, the Knightmare Frame Lancelot, named after one of King Arthur's Knights... but legends of knights and chivalry and dragons are just that: legends.

[ A laugh. ]

Not where I'm from. Dragons are closely linked with the gods, too. Not that Fódlan worships any deities other than the chief Goddess.

[Lotor is just raising an eyebrow at Lelouch.]

Rare but real; I’ve only heard of them appearing on worlds with significant sources of magic.

[ He snorts. ]

... The power to match a God? You make that yourself.

[ He snorts. But he knows very well such powers exist. He's lying through his teeth. His own eye shows just such a power. ]

I don't believe in such things as Goddesses or Gods. I believe in creating my own miracles.

Okay but you're getting off-track. So, then, how do you explain all of these differences? None of you have heard of Fódlan, and the rest of us have never heard of Brittania. Right? So that leaves us all with a problem.
resolved: (Thinking.)

The many worlds theory.

[ He says it simply. ]

It's a common philosophical and scientific speculation. "For everything you do, there's an alternative world where you did something else. Or others where things are even more different than that." Take that about... ten hundred thousand steps apart and I suppose you might get the explanation.

At least, that's the best I could come up with.

My mother’s life’s work was studying the boundaries between realities, as something concrete and more than theoretical. It would be my guess as well.
